Alor is easy to access: two airlines (Merpati and Transnusa) connect Alor to Kupang many times a week. Kupang itself is daily connected to all major Indonesian cities and has international flights to Darwin and Dili (see FLIGHT MAP under) twice a week. On request and for additional charge we can arrange a transfer package of domestic flights in advance. You will receive the plane tickets upon your arrival in Indonesia (at Bali, Surabaya or Kupang airport).

Payment

In order to confirm a booking we kindly request that our guests pay a 25% deposit (payable by bank transfer). The balance will be required by bank transfer before your arrival or on site on your arrival in cash (US$, Euros, IDR) or travellers' cheques (US$ only). Sorry, we don't accept credit cards yet.

Cancellation policy

• Cancellations made 60 days or more prior to arrival will be refunded excluding transfer expenses fee. The deposit remains valid if you choose to reschedule your booking in order to postpone your arrival.
• Cancellations within 30 days prior to arrival are subject to a 25% per person cancellation fee. The deposit remains valid if you choose to reschedule your booking in order to postpone your arrival.
• Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to arrival are fully non-refundable or total deposit can be used for another arrival date.

Visa

A visa free entry into Indonesia is granted to citizens of the following countries: Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

A visa can be bought on arrival in Indonesia for 25 USD by citizens of the following countries: Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.

All other travellers must secure a visa from their local Indonesian Embassy or Consular Office prior to their arrival.

Passports must be valid for 6 months from the entry date, and a valid ticket to leave Indonesia within 30 days of arrival must be presented upon arrival in Indonesia.


Airport taxes

Visitors to Indonesia are required to pay departure taxes at the airport. The departure tax for domestic travel is 20,000 Rp (2€), while the tax for international departures is 75,000 Rp (7€).


Currency

The official currency is Indonesian Rupiah. The rate of exchange is approximately 1US$ = 9,500 Rp. or 1 Euro = 11,500 Rp. There is only one ATM on ALOR and we advise you to bring along a sufficient amount of rupiah to cover your personal expenses. The resort accepts Rupiah, Euro, US, SING and AUS Dollars.


Insurance

It is strongly recommended to have insurance that also covers diving activity and you are advised to confirm well ahead your arrival that the insurance company can effectively service the remote regions of Indonesia.


Malaria

For most of the year we have practically no mosquitoes since there is no standing freshwater or any open water containers. However - to be on the safe side all beds are protected with removable mosquito-nets and we can provide some mosquito repellent if you don't bring any along (needed in the rainy season only, from Dec to end of Feb).

Indonesia is classified as a malaria risk country. Taking preventive (prophylactic) medication is a matter of personal decision.


Vaccination

There are no vaccinations required.


Seasonality

The diving is possible all year round but the resort is not operating from 25th of Jan to 15th of Feb (maintenance and staff holiday) during the peak of the rainy season.

The house reef can be, some days in august, difficult to access due to the east wind creating swell. The microclimate of Alor archipelago is relatively dry for most of the year.


Communications

At the resort you can get cell phone signal and we provide an Indonesian HP number if your number is not active in Indonesia, so you can contact and be contacted by your relatives and friends.
