Immersed in nature

The resort is stretched along a 400 m long sandy beach. Its integration into nature preserved the authentic atmosphere of the place. Each building was designed to ensure protection from the heat thus eliminating the need for air conditioning. While the days here are warm, the evenings are generally cool to a pleasant temperature leaving the open-air design to keep you completely comfortable.

Nestled into the natural landscape, retiring to your bungalow at the end of the day allows for restful immersion in nature. Smell the sea, feel the soft breeze, and fall asleep to the gentle lapping of the sea – far from city lights and where the moon dictates the next day’s diving adventures.

Immersed in place

While our guests and staff hail from countries the world over, there’s one thing we all have in common; the sea and the affinity for secluded places where we can reconnect with nature and ourselves. In a small setting we can approach our guests on a personal level. We enjoy meals in a convivial atmosphere at a shared dining table, where we tell our stories and forge friendships.

Alor Divers is a place where we disconnect to reconnect – while we do have Wi-Fi inside our bungalow accommodations, we’ve chosen not to provide it in our guest social areas.

We hope you’ll cherish the chance to put down your phone or device, disconnect from your normal day to day; and reconnect with your surroundings.

Bungalows

Spacious bungalows are designed to complement the natural environment. Their open design and thatched roofing are inspired by traditional architecture. Seafront open structure enables the breeze to bring the natural aeration and freshness indoors so there is no need for air-conditioning. Between June and August, the nights can get surprisingly cool (blankets are provided) and for the rest of the year a wall/ceiling fan can be used for additional comfort.

Interior equipment and décor are kept simple to enhance the serenity of the surroundings. All the beds are high quality spring beds and each bed features a reading lamp and spacious mosquito net to ensure sufficient air flow.

Large wooden terrace grants you a relaxing place to enjoy an impressive view over Pantar Strait and the sandy patch adjoining your bungalow features lounge chairs for additional chill out space.

Family Friendly

Kids will feel like Robinson Crusoe while exploring the resort’s surroundings: a great playground for kids of all ages, with the beach and the strange creatures living in the tidal pools, but also the nice trees inviting new adventures! A bit older explorers who can swim are also welcome on our boats when we head to nice snorkeling sites.

We have special prices for juniors (check our price list section) and upon request, we can add extra beds to the parent’s bungalow and provide a nanny to take care of the little ones when the adults are out on the sea.

Restaurant and Cuisine

Our restaurant is a relaxing area that also embraces a small boutique/office, library with a selection of marine books and novels and a cozy lounge.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in buffet style at a set time. Our scrumptious menus combine a variety of exotic Asian and some favorite Western dishes, often with a bit of Pantar twist and always with fresh, local, organic produce. Grilled fish is a special treat every time fishermen pass with the catch of the day!

Homemade bread is baked daily and cakes or cookies fresh from the oven are a regular treat. At the restaurant we offer complimentary tea, infusions, coffee, fruits and drinking water at all times.

We are able to accommodate special dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian or vegan) if given an adequate advance notice.

Green Initiatives in Action

We operate in one of Indonesia’s last remaining wild places, a delicate and fragile environment that is core to the experience we offer. The long-term survival and health of our environment is critical. Alor Divers is therefore designed to share our space with nature, and staying with us means an immersive experience, where all aspects of your stay have been carefully thought out to minimize impact on the environment.
